On a nice sunny morning 79 riders took to the start of the Evesham Vale road race. With a quality field, it wasn't long before
the first attack was started by Steve Dring, Team Echelon Spiuk. He was soon followed by another 8 riders, with young,
local rider Tom Stockdale, Team Qoroz, leading the chase. They established a 30 second lead but after 10 hard miles of
chasing the bunch were all back together. There were several more attacks when, eventually, 12 riders broke clear which
was narrowed down to 5 come the last lap. These 5 were Oliver Beckingsale, Giant, Llewellyn Kinch, GWR Team,
Philip Borret, Team Tor 2000, Liam Holohan, Team Raleigh and Ben Stockdale, Team Qoroz. Unfortunately Philip Borret
and Ben Stockdale were to puncture on this final lap. This left 3 riders to contest the finish with Liam Holohan taking
a tight finish from Llewellyn Kinch and Oliver Beckingsale in third.
A great effort from Team Qoroz brought the punctured Ben Stockdale into the lead chase group. This group pushed the 3 leaders right till the end, with Ben Stockdale winning the chase group sprint.

After receiving a record 130 entries it enabled us to have a quality field off 80 riders in the Evesham Road Race
containing a team of 6 Evesham Wheelers. There were various breakaways trying to form but with nice sunshine and
very little wind the bunch wasn’t going to allow a breakaway to stay away. And a bunch sprint was on the cards.
But with about 2km to go Richard Prebble off Candi TV Pinarello RT made his bid for the finish with Luke Moseley
Climb On Bikes following in his tracks. These 2 riders managed to hold of the bunch to enable 1st and 2nd place
with Giles Pidcock Epic Cycles Viner RT leading the charging bunch across the finishing line. The best placed
Evesham rider was Matthew Ullmer who finished in 16th place. With good rides from Scott Law and Mike Thelwell
and a good effort by Robin Walker in his first ever Road Race. ![]() |

With a full field of 80 starters and nice spring weather the bunch was very active with riders trying to break the bunch, with the bunch still together for the first prime which was taken by Ben Stockdale MJS Racing. Eventually a break of 9 riders gained 20 seconds and then was reduced to 7 riders who all worked well together and increased their lead to 30 seconds. There was a brief split as the riders sprinted for the last prime won by Steve Dring Echelon Cycles. Then the brake came back together for the bell lap and the brake maintained their lead to the finish with Steve Golla High Wycombe CC winning by a bike length.
